About Irrigaudit
Irrigaudit is a catch-can audit workspace for landscape irrigation: lay out the cans, enter the readings, and it works out distribution uniformity, precipitation rate and a runtime, then writes the report. It is meant for irrigation auditors, contractors and facility managers checking a zone before and after a repair.
The arithmetic
The formulas are the usual audit ones, written out in the site's own code. Low-quarter distribution uniformity divides the mean of the driest quarter of readings by the overall mean; Christiansen CU is one minus the mean absolute deviation over the mean. A reading in millilitres becomes a depth through the throat area of the catch device, at 16.387064 mL per cubic inch, and water volume uses 0.623 gallons per square foot per inch.
Runtime is where a choice has to be made, so the workspace asks you to make it. The two options are the IA scheduling multiplier, 1 / (0.4 + 0.6 x DU) and Full low-quarter coverage, 1 / DU. At a DU of 68 per cent the second asks for about 19 per cent more runtime than the first; which is right depends on the specification you are working to.
The reference ranges
The precipitation and uniformity ranges on the reference tables carry no per-row citation. Use them to sanity-check a measured result, never in place of one. Targets vary by program. These bands follow guidance commonly cited in Irrigation Association auditor training; a rebate scheme or ordinance may set different cut points. For the nozzle actually installed, at the pressure it actually runs at, the manufacturer datasheet is the authority.
Who runs it
One independent developer builds and maintains Irrigaudit, along with SpanRef, MixRatio, AmpSizer and CogoKit. None of the 6 guides is signed by a person: each carries the Irrigaudit name alone, and its page markup lists the Irrigaudit organization as author. No certified auditor is credited. Each guide is dated to the latest change in its text.
Limits and contact
A calculation here is not a certified audit, does not satisfy a rebate or ordinance requirement on its own say-so, and cannot see a broken head, a pressure problem or a sunken can that skewed your readings. Audit readings and reports stay on your device; see the privacy policy. Corrections and questions: [email protected].
